microsoft tourettes syndrome

So I think I have a condition that could be known as Microsoft Tourettes Syndrome. It occured to me while trying to open a docx document. For those of you who don't know. docx is that new MS XML format that's been getting so much press lately but that pretty much no one uses yet.
Now I'm fine with using .doc. For these purposes (opening resumes) I'd REALLY prefer people would use PDF since it *is* *portable* document format. That would make entirely too much sense since you know..when you send a resume to someone you don't want them editing it, and you want to make sure it prints out pretty which is EXACTLY what pdf does...
Anyhow so I'm looking for a DOCX converter and I find one from MS. Woohoo! Maybe I can read this thing now. I try to drag the DOCX file to the app that says "Drag Document Here" and...it doesn't work! Verbal chaos enues..."this !@$#! program...you $@!3ers...why can't you !$!@!@# @#$!@#$ make something that %$^&#@ works!". Anyhow I still haven't found a DOCX converter, so I'll have to open this guy's resume later, who has'n really scored points with me using a somewhat obsucure proprietary format.
My MS Tourettes seems to happen when I'm using XP, or even Windows 95. I guess it's good that I'm a Linux/Unix/OS X user.
So the moral of the story: If you're ever looking for a job with a place that uses OSS extensively, or a place that is a Linux shop, do yourself and us resume readers a favor. Use PDF!
that is probably the best
